The National Voter Registration Form

The National Voter Registration Form is accepted everywhere but New Hampshire and Wyoming.  It takes less than three minutes to fill the form out using our Voter Registration Widget. 

Military and Overseas Voters

KENTUCKY

• Kentucky prepares a personalized absentee ballot application for every voter who wishes to vote absentee. Contact your County Clerk and ask them to mail you an absentee ballot application. Your spouse, parents or children can also request an application on your behalf.

MAINE

• Maine voter registration forms are not available online. You can use our Voter Registration Widget to register to vote.
• Maine prepares a new absentee ballot application for each election.  Maine election law specificies that an absentee ballot application may not be made available more than 3 months before the election for which the application will be used. The next scheduled statewide election will be held November 2, 2010.  Please check back after August 2, 2010 for the application.

NEVADA

• Nevada's voter registration form is not available online. You can use our Voter Registration Widget to register to vote.
• Nevada statewide absentee ballot request (Note: there is no official statewide form, but we've created one that meets all legal requirements.) If you live in one of the following counties, you can use the form created by your county clerk:

NEW HAMPSHIRE

• You can only register by mail in New Hampshire if you are unable to register in person because of physical disability, religious beliefs, military service, or because of temporary absence. Contact your town/city clerk if you need to register to vote by mail.

NORTH CAROLINA

North Carolina voter registration form

There is no official North Carolina absentee ballot application, but there are two ways to apply for an absentee ballot. 

1. You can contact your County Board of Elections and ask them to mail you an absentee ballot application. 
2. You can submit a written (handwritten or typed) request to your County Board of Elections.  The request must include the following:
   • Your full name
   • Your residential address (the address where you are registered to vote) 
   • Your mailing address (if different from residential address)
   • Your date of birth
   • Your daytime phone number
   • Your signature

NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota does not have voter registration!

North Dakota has FOUR different absentee ballot applications:

1. The North Dakota general absentee voter application (for residents who have lived in North Dakota for at least 30 days)
2. The North Dakota new resident absentee voter application (for residents who have lived in North Dakota for more than 10 days but fewer than 30 days)
3. The North Dakota overseas children absentee voter application (for citizens who have never lived in the United States but whose parents are North Dakota residents)
4. The North Dakota overseas resident absentee voter application (for military or overseas voters)

OHIO

RHODE ISLAND

Rhode Island prepares a new absentee ballot application for every election.  There are four applications available currently:

1. Rhode Island September 2010 non-partisan primary absentee ballot application
2. Rhode Island September 2010 Democratic primary absentee ballot application
3. Rhode Island September 2010 Republican primary absentee ballot application
4. Rhode Island Novemeber 2010 election absentee ballot application
   

Additionally, disabled and incapacitated voters only can use the Rhode Island Permanent Absentee Voter Status Application to apply for permanent absentee voter status.

SOUTH CAROLINA
